Trends in Community Children's Services Survey National Report 1st Wave
ACCS is delighted to release the first wave of data from the ACCS Trends In Community Children's Services Survey. Drawing from over 640 services' experiences across Australia, this research shows that after six months of the National Early Years Quality Reforms the community child care sector is embracing the change. The average fee for centre based long day care is $75 per day and with just over a year till the new requirements for higher staff qualifications, only 12 per cent of the workforce is not qualified, with a quarter of the workforce currently studying to obtain their first qualification or up-skilling. ACCS position on the suspension of the Racial Discrimination Act in the NT
This position was adopted by ACCS 12 May 2009 and outlines ACCS' opposition to the suspension of the Racial Discrimination Act in the Northern Territory. ACCS calls on the Commonwealth Government to act immediately to introduce amendments to the Northern Territory Emergency Response legislation (NTER) to ensure it complies with the RDA.
ACCS believes that families and children have the right to choose not for profit community owned children’s services. This position paper sets out how the Federal Government could ensure that this choice is available for Australian families.
